A little about me

I’m Sophie, a wedding florist who specialises in florals for the creative, modern bride who wants something memorable for their wedding day. That could be the most exquisite white and green bouquet, multi-coloured and full of joy, a stunning peach and lilac colour scheme or blooms all the same colour - the world is really your oyster! Studio based near Leeds, I cover a wide area that includes Halifax, Bradford, York and Harrogate.

A few of my favourite things…

Quite a few moons ago when I was studying surface pattern and print at art college, I fell in love with Japanese floral illustrations and designs - dainty stems and posies in oh-so-stunning colour palettes topped up my already growing passion of flowers from my childhood. These days you’ll find me wearing vintage floral dresses, cute cardi’s and walking my beagle Pip across muddy West Yorkshire fields with my husband and son, usually with a big bag and secateurs for foraging the best the season can offer to add into my floral designs!

The Prettiest Posy came about after my passion for flowers overflowed *whoops* and I took my 20 years experience as a stylist to floristry school. I work with the simple philosophy:  to offer beautiful blooms in stunning colours and textures that epitomise ‘prettiness’.

Working as a magazine stylist has given me invaluable experience. I know how the interplay of colours creates a lasting memory, how composition can tell a subtle story and how textures work together to create an intangible feeling and atmosphere. Some of the most memorable shoots I've worked on have combined these three elements…. and this is what I bring to you - a unique floral style encompassing a love of pretty colours combined with delicate textures and oh-so-stylish composition.
